Welcome to this month's
edition of the Clarity Success Coaching Newsletter.
What kind of support are you getting? Do you know what kind of support
you need? How much support is enough?
I would like you to consider the kind of support you are receiving and
make sure it is adequate or better yet, incredibly supportive. I dont
hear it as often as I used to but there are people who boldly claim that
they dont need help or support. I think there was a time when acting
independently without anyones support was an admirable trait. To certain
extent is still is but it also has its limitations. The bigger the player
I work with I notice a very strong support system that allows them to
focus on their brilliance. I just spent some time with John Furlong the
C.E.O. of the 2010 Winter Olympics. I can tell you that he is so grateful
for and proud of the support system that he has in place. Setting up a
strong support system is an important element of creating success for
anyone and I hope you can do it without feeling bad about asking for
I have been very lucky to have wonderful support in my business and
personal life. One of the parts of my support system has been my virtual
assistant Alexandra Amor. She has been a brilliant confidant,
collaborator, organizer and administrative advisor. A few months ago we
looked at how my business has grown and realized that I needed more
support. I needed someone to do almost anything that wasnt coaching,
speaking, writing or building relationships. Alexandra suggested that she
would assist in finding the right person and train the chosen candidate.
Many of you have been connected to Alexandra in some way. One way is that
she creates the Clarity Success Coaching Newsletters that you read. As
Alexandra leaves my company I want you to know how truly grateful I am to
have had her World Class Support! Thanks Alexandra!
I am pleased to announce that my new assistant is Jennifer MacDonald. Her
impact has been felt in the first week of her being on board and I am
excited about all of the skills she will be bringing to the company. I
have known Jenny for a long time and have been watching her career. In
fact I have known her all of her life. She is my daughter and so having a
family member taking a key role in the company is very exciting for me.
I am also pleased to announce that beginning in September Shelley
MacDougall who has been supporting me as a facilitator for the Happy
Healthy Wealthy Game will expanding her involvement with the tele-class
part of Clarity Success Coaching. She will also be supporting our clients
as a coach and speaker. We are very excited about the many ways Shelley
will enhance what we presently offer. Shelley has great experience in the
Club Management industry and has been involved with training and
development throughout her career. Shelley developed great skills as a
trainer for the Dale Carnegie Organization.
Here are some thoughts on the kind of support you might draw upon.
1) Staff This is an obvious one. We are definitely supported by the staff
we work with. The question is Are we getting the kind of support we need?
Do we have enough? Do we have the right people doing the right jobs? Are
they excited about what they do and what we do?
2) Colleagues Many people are supported by colleagues in their
organization or their industry associations.
3) Family When we have done our part to build a strong family our
immediate family or our extended family can be a great support structure.
4) Friends In our lives we may accumulate many acquaintances but it is
more likely that we have a few friends that will be there without
hesitation if we ever need anything.
5) Consultants and Professionals As our world, our lives and our
businesses become more complex it is unlikely that we have extraordinary
competence in all of the parts of our lives that we need it.
6) Spirtitual Support Many people get leadership and support in this area
of their life.
7) Coaches and Mentors Why take the slower approach of learning
everything through trial and error when you can accelerate your learning
with these relationships.
8) Mastermind This type of support has been instrumental in building my
business and helping me to visualize and create the kind of life I want
to live. Imagine what happens when you borrow the education, experience
and resources of 8 or 9 other people.
9) Environments When I work with people I teach them about 9 environments
that they can call on to support their success. If you just consider your
physical environment as one of the nine you have the chance to see if it
is supporting you or not. Is it clean, organized, inspiring and
energizing? Does it give you enough natural light?
10) Beliefs Are your beliefs supporting you. Do you have beliefs that is
getting in your way. Watch your language and notice the words that come
out. Are they supporting your success? Words like, I cant remember names.
This business isnt as much fun as it used to be. I feel sick. are
powerful words that may not support you.
I hope you get the idea that setting up as many great support systems as
possible will make your like more enjoyable and effortless.
"If I can line up the people who, back through the ages, have gone
at life in ways I greatly admire, then I can feel their strength
supporting me, all their standards and values pointing the way in which I
am to go."

This month I recommend the movie The Secret.

Happy Healthy We*althy
Have you ever gone to a seminar, got all pumped up, left
with big plans to change your life only to find yourself slipping right
back into old habits?
You are not alone. According to surveys, only 10% of
personal development books ever get read past the second chapter and even
less ever get implemented. "Why?" you ask. It is one thing to
"Know what to do"... and something entirely different to get
yourself to "Do what you know".
The Happy Healthy
We*althy Game does just that. Combining the best of both seminars and
coaching, the structure is that of an actual game with rules, prizes,
players, teammates, coaches, and competition. It takes nine weeks to play
the game and we play it virtually, over the telephone on a bridge line.
The Happy Healthy
We*althy Game is an experience that will help you set your own goals,
measure your achievements before and after the 90-day game, and provide
you with tools to produce sustainable results.
