Greetings!
Welcome to the April 2004 edition of the Clarity Success Coaching
Newsletter! Once again for this month's newsletter we are going to
focus on a topic very close to everyone's heart (and wallet) -
money. This is part two of our series on money.
As always, we
welcome your questions, comments and stories. Don't forget to send
us an email and share your thoughts with us.
Money Issues |
 |
I recently had a client call me and ask me to discuss
with him the concept of scarcity vs. abundance. This concept
is really deciding whether your beliefs come from a place
where there's never enough or a place where there's always
more than enough. It's fairly obvious how this ties into our
discussion on money. Our beliefs have such a huge impact on
what is possible in our lives.
Many of you who have seen me give my program called "The
S.T.A.R. Within You" will remember the reference I make to the
movie 'Apollo 13'. There's a scene in that movie where Gene
Kranz, Mission Control Flight Director, is given the news that
there will not be enough oxygen in the command module to get
his flight crew back to earth. There is a moment during this
scene when Kranz says that they have never lost anyone in the
Apollo program and he's not about to let it happen on his
watch. The scene ends with his famous line, "Failure is not an
option". When Kranz makes the decision that failure is not an
option creativity is the result. Conversely, if we decide that
failure is an option (or "it can't be done" or "we don't do
things that way here" or "I'm just not a person who is ever
going to have money") then creativity comes to a screeching
halt.
In Gene Kranz's world when failure wasn't an option the
many minds of the team came together to brainstorm, call on
other resources, simulate possible solutions and, in essence,
create the solution that would solve the problem. In our own
lives, if we have the mind-set that the world is a place of
scarcity it's not unlike saying, "It can't be done". When we
see the world as a place of abundance and a place where
there's more than enough of everything we need then we can
become creative with regard to fulfilling our dreams and
goals.
Here are some questions I challenge you to think about and
answer.
How do you see the world? Do you come from
abundance or scarcity? Where is there scarcity in your
life? Where would you like more abundance? If you knew
what you wanted how could you tap into the creativity you need
to get it? If you're not happy with the amount you have, is
there a place where you will
be?

Once, when we were discussing a world peace
project with my teacher Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, somebody asked
him, "Where is all the money going to come from?" And he
replied without hesitation, "From wherever it is at the
moment." Deepak Chopra from his book: Creating
