Purpose
Strong lives are motivated by dynamic purposes.
  Kenneth Hildebrand

Once we have gone through the process of discovering who we are, we are in a position to define our purpose.  Think about the people that you admire.  Think about the people who have touched your life.  Whether they are people you have met in person, your family, a teacher, a coach or a person you know through history, celebrity or by reputation, chances are they are people that have made a difference.  Perhaps they have made a difference to the world, to a country, to a community or to an individual, but to gain your admiration they almost certainly have made a difference.

What is your purpose?
What difference will you make?
What value will you add?
A Personal and Corporate Purpose

My purpose is to elevate lives.  Like you I have many opportunities each day to do this and I make an effort to do it as often as possible.  Achieving this goal at home with my family is a priority.  I feel very fortunate to have found a career that allows me to make a difference in people's lives.  As a coach and a keynote speaker I initiate action from within the people I touch.

Robin S. Sharma refers to "Linking Paycheck to Purpose"

I am very fortunate to be able to say that I can.  It is very powerful to be able to say that you and the people you work with can do this.  What would it be like if you could?

A few years ago my wife Rose gave me a gift with this passage on it.  It has meant a lot to me.  I would like to give it to you.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.this is to have succeeded.
